BEST Bridal Prep Tips for Hair & Makeup - What to do, what to do?

What to do, what to do?

Here are our four BEST Bridal Prep Tips to help you achieve your radiant, camera ready hair & makeup look. We understand that you are a busy bride and have a lot to do to prepare for your weddings. So we want to make it simple for you you. All you have to do to achieve the best way to prep your skin and hair for the big day is remember the anagram B E S T:

A clean brow bone with a full arch will make a huge difference to your look on your wedding day.

B – BROWS
I can’t stress enough how important eyebrow shaping is. Good eye brows frame your face and can give you an instant face lift, making your eyes pop! If you feel your brows have been over plucked, let them grow back and go to a professional to have them shaped. Brow waxing should be done at least 2 days prior to the big day.

You want smooth, healthy, and radiant skin, right?

E – EXFOLIATE
Do not get a facial close to your trial-run/wedding date. Some facials are meant to draw out impurities in the skin which can cause breakouts. Do prep your skin by exfoliating before the trial-run so your makeup lasts longer. Try using a mask that can help minimize your pores. Clay products are fantastic for pore shrinking and soaking up excess oil on your skin. Green tea products are also good to use as it is an antioxidant. Exfoliate the lips. Lipstick will stay on longer and look smoother. Skin care is the most important step in any beauty regimen and it makes a HUGE difference on how good your makeup will look!

Squeaky clean hair prevents the hairstyle from staying in place.

S – SHAMPOO
It’s best to wash your hair 1 or 2 days days before the trial run/wedding and blow-dry your hair upside-down for extra volume.  DO Not Wash Your Hair On The Day of Your! When creating an updo the natural oils in the hair give it better holding properties. The natural oils can help mold an updo into place. This will ensure your hair has some “grip” the next day and is easier to style. The stylist will have a good base to work with for your fancy hairstyle!

Snip Those Split Ends Please

T – TRIM
Two weeks before the wedding is the time to get the hair trimmed. When your ends begin to split they cause breakage and brittle hair. Brittle hair has no shine, is dull, and creates frizzy ends.  It is also harder to curl hair with dead ends. If you have a lot of split ends, a couple inches worth, and you don’t want to trim that much, you can deep condition once a week to help mend and smooth them out. Never drastically change your hairstyle or color immediately before your wedding. Coloring before the big day should be done about two weeks before. This allows time for the color to “settle”. It won’t look like that newly fresh just dyed my hair look. The color softens and looks more natural.
