BRIDAL BEAUTY ON THE GO: Contouring and Highlighting

A beautiful bridal makeup application is all about using makeup to highlight and accentuate your features. This is especially important for photos, as the camera tends to pick up shadows and highlights better than the naked eye.

BRIDAL BEAUTY ON THE GO: Contouring and Highlighting

There are actual contouring and highlighting powders made just for this, but you can also use a bronzer or powder that is a few shades darker than your skin, and a foundation that is a few shades lighter for highlighting. For the most part, your t-zone and under eye area is where you want to highlight, and the outer portion of your face, underneath your cheekbones, and your neck is where you want to define with a darker color. Keep in mind, blending is key for a natural look!

What’s The Best Bridal Makeup Look If You Are Wearing A Tiara?

Hey princess brides! Did you know that the first rule of wearing a tiara, according to Britain’s leading authority on the subject, is that rank does not dictate who can or cannot place a dazzling array of gems on their head?

Add some glow and sparkle to finish off your bridal look.

Add some glow and sparkle to finish off your bridal look.

Rather it is the occasion. So go ahead and rock a tiara on your big day because apart from weddings there are increasingly rare occasions these days when tiaras are absolutely essential. And besides, the ancient etiquette is that you wear a tiara for the first time on the occasion of your marriage. This is because tiaras symbolize the loss of innocence and the crowning of love.

So what’s the best bridal makeup look if you are wearing a tiara? How should you wear your hair and makeup? The updo is a classic hairstyle that is known for its versatility – a good updo can be a perfect fit for your dazing tiara. But if you have long hair then wearing it down with simple curls and a fantastic tiara will make your wedding hair look simply gorgeous on the big day. As far as makeup goes, you’ll want to create a  super sophisticated look. Search for finely milled powders that sparkle like diamonds and can be used on the eyes. You can create an elegant make-up look with some delicate yet dazzling details that will spruce up your smokey eye but, be careful not to over do it. You don’t want your makeup to compete with your tiara! The idea is to let your natural beauty shine through as you sparkle your way down the aisle.

Vintage Pastels For A Romantic, Soft Hued, Delicate Bridal Makeup Look

If you think pastels are just a pale, sweet cliché, let this be a lesson. Romantic, soft hues and delicate pastels create a gorgeous bridal makeup look!

Vintage Pastels For A Romantic, Soft Hued, Delicate Bridal Makeup Look

How to make the trendy, yet classic, pastel beauty look wearable for your wedding.

Rose, blush, pink – in fact, all shades of spun-sugar and ballerina slippers, dominated the faces of the models walking the summer ’14 runways. And if you are not sure how to create this look, no worries. Staying on trend will be as easy as picking up an eye shadow palette that contains both a taupe and soft pinks to create the look.

  • To avoid tired-looking eyes, go lighter on the brown when applying on the bottom lids.
  • If you want to play around with the trend, but are looking for a more toned down romantic look, you can use pale pink to achieve a smashingly hip effect.
  • Start with a monochromatic palette. For cheeks, take inspiration from fresh blooms and pretty pastel hues of pale, blush toned roses.

What makes pastel pink lipstick not look like something you’d see in a Nicki Minaj music video?

Undertones that are less white and more purple.

  • Tone down pastel eye shadow with a heavy black lash and a nude lip.
  • Opt for pearl or crystal, shimmery shadows in delicate pastel shades for a lovely sophisticated finish to your bridal eyes.
  • Complete your soft romantic makeup look with a stylish tousled ‘do.

Embrace your beautiful bridal face and don’t you dare cover those freckles!

If you’d like natural looking coverage which allows your freckles to show, without looking covered up, it’s best to use a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer. This will help even out your skin tone, but will also let your freckles show, beautifully. It’s very important when doing makeup on freckled skin that the foundation be a certain “middle ground” shade. Continue Reading…

Applying Bridal Makeup On Winter-Exposed Skin

What’s a bride to do? It’s winter, and with the cold and wind and snow comes ashy, pale, dry, scaly winter skin. If you moisturize too much, you risk acne and product build-up. If you don’t moisturize enough, you have dry, itchy skin by the end of the day.

Brides Need To Be More Protective Of Their Skin!

No worries, try these tips:

Since Winter’s temperatures creates a blustery affect on bridal skin, my top picks are all skin care based. A richer moisturizer is mandatory both day and night to replenish and rehydrate. Continue Reading…
