Hot-Off-The-Runway Bridal Hair & Makeup Looks
Greetings Beautiful Brides To Be. I hope you are ready for some serious swooning today. You are going to love the haute couture looks from the oh-so-talented and creative designers from this season’s bridal runways.
So if you are craving a little beauty inspiration today and you are the type of bride with a passion for beauty who wants to look her absolute best for her 2014 wedding, look no further. I have the latest looks to share with you. As an award winning makeup artist, I offer you the ultimate source for bridal beauty, fashion and trends. I am often asked by brides to give them tips on how they can achieve a perfect makeup look on their wedding day. I have applied the makeup for over 1,000 brides on their wedding day, so I have many ideas to share! Designer-made fresh, new, exciting hairstyles are the main attraction this bridal season and our stylists know just how to recreate them. Interested to see the bridal beauty trends for 2014? Well, here are a few of my favorites. Hope you’ll be inspired!
Designer Elizabeth Fillmore is always inspired by natural elements, and strives to “never look too done.” I have fallen in love with the romantic detailing and elegant looks in this designer’s latest collection. Dewy, flushed cheeks combined with perfectly stung rosebud lips make this a fresh and minimalist makeup look for 2014 brides. Bridal Makeovers master stylist Kei Pucci uses the same Marcel waving and pin curls methods that were popular in the 20’s and 30’s, by shaping and setting the curls with her magical comb, iron and fingers. Although it’s not the easiest of styles to achieve it’s one of the most rewarding for the vintage bride looking for authentic inspiration.
Warm earth toned brown shadows for the eyes and cheeks to reflect the gentle, Gothic architecture reflected on the water of the mysterious quietness of the city of Venice, inspired Rivini’s bridal looks. The beauty focus backstage at the Rivini Bridal Fashion Week runway show was on the eyes and brows. A subtle, smoky eye was perfectly reinterpreted for a wedding, and strong brows framed models’ faces so that they needed little else to look polished. Eyes were lined in black/brown, lips were left nude, and cheeks presented a peachy glow. Rivini’s looks are always about the essence of simple luxury. This kind of styling would be great for the bride that strives for a trendy, sleek and modern design in her makeup.

Innovative bridal hairstyles influenced by 1970’s curly textures and the angular bob shapes of the 1930’s.
Badgley Mischka Bride debuted a new collection for 2014 inspired by merging the classic Hollywood Femme Fatale and the Disco Diva. The 1970’s was a nostalgic era that looked to the 30’s starlet for fashion inspiration. And now for 2014 we see these romantic hairstyles modernized with a touch of flashback revival of era of tight, volumized curls with the strong angles of precise-line bobs. When taking into account the vintage quality of the opulently designed Art Deco inspired dresses, it is not surprising that the mastermind behind these, stylist Felix Fischer, decided to go in this direction. Paired with red lips, black eyeliner and rosy cheeks make this a chic and trendy look.
A strong retro influence of the allure the ethereal, enchanted garden style was apparent throughout Marchesa’s 2014 Spring/Summer Bridal collection. Stylist Dana Tizzio helped create the couture, feminine wedding hairstyles for this show. The polished ballerina bun is neat and off the face, this style is just right for the 50’s vintage inspired bride. The best part of this style is that it elongates the neck, providing instant posture. To balance out the dreamy romance of the dresses, dark eyeliner was focused on the under-eye with a super dark brow to match. Did you know that as a tribute to the couture style of these designers vision, they named their company after the 1800’s socialite Marchesa Lusia Casat? The Original Marchesa believed in taking wardrobe risks. It is amazing how her over the top couture fashion is still being recreated to this day.
